Focaccia Portocasa was born during the pandemic as a heartfelt effort to brighten the days of friends and acquaintances affected by lockdowns. Baking bread became my way of visiting and lifting spirits, sharing a fantastic product while connecting with people.
As the pandemic's grip began to loosen, the war in Ukraine ignited a new purpose for me. I decided to sell my bread and donate the proceeds to the Ukrainian church to support victims of the conflict. During this time, the world-famous chef Massimo Capra from Mississauga discovered my focaccia and was impressed by its quality. He generously offered his restaurant and industrial oven to aid my cause, allowing me to raise over $10,000 for those in need.
Today, I am proud to supply my artisan breads to notable establishments like Capra’s Kitchen, Vincenzo’s Italian Specialty Market in Waterloo, and Venetian Meare in Stoney Creek. I’m also working on launching an e-commerce site to make my bread more accessible to everyone.
Thank you for being a part of this journey and supporting a cause that started with a simple act of kindness. For any questions or to place an order, feel free to contact me.
